RED
Bridget Nickles
People are still talking about the 'lady in red' that performed at Woodstarr last Saturday night.

It's been nearly a year since we spotlighted Bridget in Speak Out.  My friends and I decided to checkout her performance after the PRIDE parade.  It was one of those times you really appreciate someone for who they are.  While many of the performers spent little time mingling with the crowd, Bridget, with the exception of a couple costume changes, spent the entire day entertaining the community on and off the stage.  Bridget proved she really knows what gay pride is all about.  It is a time to celebrate.

Offstage, Anthony Jarrell is a sucessful entreprenuer and is very active in the community.  He owns ICON Salon in Charleston and also owns and manages some rental properties on Charleston's west end.

He is an active board member of the Rainbow Pride of West Virginia committee and has helped raise money for several respectable charities in and around the region.

Although  Bridget does not perform professionally now, you can still catch her onstage on the first Saturday of each month at The Broadway in Charleston and occaisionally at Woodstarr in Parkersburg, as well as, Vice Versa in Morgantown.

Terry Urban, editor of WVAS QUEER NEWS, was at Woodstarr last Saturday and had this to say about Bridget's performance:  "I was blown away by her performance.  It was my first time seeing her perform.   Bridget Nickels is an extremely talented performer."

Anthony has entertained audiences all over the country.  He is proof that some things only get better with time.  At 47, he is a phenominal and unstoppable force.

Bridget has an incredible myspace site that reflects on her career as a female illusionist.  He is respected by his peers and is a positive mentor to many new faces to the business of female impersonation.  Visit her site at:  Http://www.myspace.com/bridget_nickles

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
I have never seen that dress you're wearing
Or the highlights in your head that catch your eyes I have been blind
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never for get, the way you look tonight

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, It took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight

The way you look tonight
I never will forget, the way you look tonight
The lady in red
The lady in red
The lady in red
My lady in red (I love you.)

Lady in Red lyrics by Chris De Burgh
